A custom children’s book to help inspire Liam during his fight against brain tumors. Fueled by you.
Liam Leads The Parade is a custom children’s book written and illustrated for a purpose: show Liam just how many people believe in him.
The story will follow 7-year old Liam as he leads his favorite parade through various challenges created by the Grumpy Witch! Luckily, Liam has the help of Magical Kindness Notes from all his friends. These notes will help inspire Liam to be brave, patient and, most importantly… silly.
Real-world Liam is nonverbal autistic and fighting off brain tumors. Even more, the pandemic has meant he and the family has been in a strict medical quarantine for over 400 days. As we’ve all learned discovered, that kind of isolation can really weigh down on someone… So, this Kindness Project is all about creating human connection and adventure for Liam, his mom, and the rest of the family.
Over the last couple of months, we’ve been asking strangers from all over the world to send in kind letters of encouragement for Liam. The community responded by sending over 1,000 Kindness Notes! In addition to sending ALL those notes to Liam, we wanted to put that support into something he can understand and appreciate… a custom book that puts him at the heart of a seemingly-impossible adventure.
With your help, we can create a story that will help inspire Liam’s fight. If he can defeat the Grumpy Witch, he can do anything!
Live For Another is an unstoppable community of kindness. Each month, we come together for creative ways of spreading joy!
In 2017, we launched our very first kindness project: MyBestFriendsList. After my childhood best friend was diagnosed with cancer and given one year to live, I dropped out of college to try and make his bucket list dreams possible. With the help of strangers across the world, we were able to experience everything we’d ever dreamed of. Actually, our community came together to break the world record for the most bone marrow donors in one day – over 13,000 people came together. One of which, a stranger from Europe, turned out to be the life saving donor needed to save my friends life.
Since then, we’ve been focusing all our effort on creating Kindness Projects that give the average person to have a huge impact:
Today, we’re putting together a custom children’s book to help inspire Liam (& his family) to stay strong through their difficult fight.
Your donations will make this book a reality. It’s that simple.
Our first challenge is illustrating the book: the artist will be around $400. As you can see by our front cover, we want to create a beautiful story that can be remembered forever. We are budgeting another $150 to be able to make several hardcover copies for Liam and his family. The last $100 will be used to send Liam various gifts with his favorite character, Mickey Mouse (weighted blanket, etc).
Luckily, we were able to find an author to donate their time and skills for writing the book. So, any excess funds will go directly to the Kindness Fund, which means we’ll save it for our next Kindness Project.
Every donor will receive a digital copy of the book.
